Terms of Service

These terms govern the use of Metvas (web and mobile app), operated by the operator named in section 12. By creating an account you accept these terms. The German version (AGB) prevails in case of discrepancies.

1. What Metvas is — and is not

Metvas is a platform where users create and discover local meetups (“events”) on a live map and communicate around them.

Metvas is not the organizer of any event. The person or venue creating an event (“host”) is solely responsible for its content, execution, safety and legality. You attend events at your own risk.

2. Account and minimum age

• Using the platform requires an account with accurate information.
• The minimum age is 16; your date of birth is checked at sign-up.
• You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity on your account.
• Only one account per person is permitted.

3. User content

Content you upload (events, photos, messages, comments, profile details) remains yours. You grant Metvas a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to store, display and technically process it (e.g. image resizing, previews) for operating the platform. This right ends when the content or your account is deleted, except where retention is legally required.

You confirm that you hold the necessary rights to everything you upload (in particular photos and persons shown in them).

4. Prohibited conduct

• Illegal, violent, discriminatory, pornographic or harassing content and events.
• Impersonation, spam, mass advertising, automated scraping of the platform.
• Publishing third parties' private data without their consent.
• Circumventing technical safeguards or interfering with the platform.
• Commercial ticket sales outside the dedicated Venue features.

5. Moderation

Users can report content and accounts and block other users. Metvas may remove content, cancel events and restrict or close accounts that violate these terms or applicable law. Clearly unlawful content is removed within 24 hours of us becoming aware of it.

6. Venue subscription

• The Venue subscription costs CHF 50 per month, billed via Payrexx.
• It renews automatically month by month and can be cancelled anytime via the subscription portal, effective at the end of the current period.
• No refunds are given for started months.
• If a payment fails, access continues temporarily; after unsuccessful retries the Venue features are deactivated.
• Price changes are announced at least 30 days in advance and apply from the next renewal.

7. Availability

Metvas is under active development. We aim for reliable operation but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and may change or discontinue features.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Metvas excludes liability for slight negligence, for indirect and consequential damages, and for the actions of other users (including hosts and events). Mandatory statutory liability — e.g. for gross negligence, intent or personal injury — remains unaffected.

9. Privacy

Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy (/legal/privacy).

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. Metvas may warn, restrict or close accounts that violate these terms at its discretion — with immediate effect in case of serious violations.

11. Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms. We will announce material changes in the app or by email; continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

Swiss law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. The place of jurisdiction is the operator's seat; mandatory places of jurisdiction remain reserved.
